METAMATERIALS
Some experiments applied to radiofrequency and antennas were carried out with the use of geometries that produce "metamaterials". A metamaterial is an artificially created material with unique electromagnetic properties that differentiate it from other materials. Its macroscopic characteristics do not depend only on its molecular structure, but also on its manufacturing geometry. In other words, a metamaterial gains its properties from its structure rather than directly from its chemical composition.

DRONES AND NUCLEAR MONITORING
A latest generation semiconductor nuclear sensor capable of detecting gamma contamination in drone flight. With the technologies and tools available in the Radiology laboratory of the Brasimone Research Center, new semiconductor matrix sensor geometries have been tested. The search for new technologies for UAS has made it possible to create the new carbon E series which allows specialized operations in the CBRN environment.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN ENDOTHERMAL ENGINES AND HYDROGEN BIVALENCE
The constant updating and the capacity for innovation are fueled by an investment in research and development in some strategic sectors. The AutoEcoGreen project aims to develop new software algorithms to increase the efficiency of endothermic engines and convert them to the use of organic fuels. The total electronic control of combustion, depending on the driving conditions, allows for better performance with more advanced software mathematical algorithms. Electronic control units equipped with artificial intelligence capable of optimizing fuel consumption and increasing the performance of motorcycles and cars, including hybrids, are being tested. The application of Harvesting technology increases the yield as well as the energy bivalence with biomass and hydrogen. For electric traction, research projects are underway for new recharging and energy storage technologies.
